Can I ask a rather impertinent question?
Are you vegan for moral reasons or did you think it may help your diabetes?

Yes its for ethical reasons and I was convinced of the diabetes argument too like these books I have from dr Furhan and the forks over knives folks, but if it was seriously unworkable and my health wasnt happening I could reconsider but I really dont want to if you know what I mean

there are vegan mayos but they seem to all have added ****** ingredients though, like mad stuff like modified maize starch and deionized apple extract? what even is that ?
Obviously they are modified maize starch and deionized apple extract;) Jokes aside, I have no idea!

I do hope you manage to get to the root of your problem though, and I'm sure there are some members of the T2 community who will offer you excellent advice to help get you there:)

All the best!

* Dr Furhman lol but its just really hard to understand that carbs dont spike blood sugar that its the added fat (thats what he says)

Thank you that is really nice of you :)

so the apples I have are 100g and it says on the pack its around 11.8g carbs and they are small so that wasnt too bad, my post lunch 2 hour pp is 6.1 because the only carby thing was that apple.

my calories are too low now though at under 1300 for the typical day what can I eat thats not too mental carbs wise its a very tricky thing your right

I see where you are coming from. Have you tried looking on the vegetarian and vegan forum threads here for things that others are having?

I think there are some low carbers there.. maybe have another look round.. I must admit I don't spend time there myself being a confirmed carnivore.

lol, I was low carb eating meat after and stuff and my 1st check up hba1c was great but I couldnt sustain the meat eating ways mentally

my point above is that if my next hba1c is up again then I will seriously have to rethink the vegan thing in order to protect my health I suffer alot with the M.E as it is lol

I'm not a vegan, but would I have mayo as part of a vegan diet? No. Because then it wouldn't be a vegan diet:)

:) There are vegan mayonnaises out there - but it all depends on people's individual preferences whether they want to buy processed, hence the 'are you able to?' part of my post.

Plus, of course, not everyone wants to go high fat.

Having had personal experience of commercially made vegan mayonnaise (ewww) I would suggest that you have a go at making your own - its got to be better than the wallpaper paste type stuff that I tried.
