I currently take a premixed insulin
twice daily but always feel like I
have to eat too much. Even using
less. But when I don't use it
my numbers start climbing high.
How can I combine some fasting
in safety?
Im aware there are more modern
insulins- but when I used them
I was ravenous and this insulin
works for me.

You cannot fast on a premixed insulin.

You'll need the basal even when fasting, but because the bolus is mixed in you'll go low because you didn't eat for the bolus.

I was doing omad but it doesn't allow for
both injections of my premix.
I'm want to do a 12 hour fast between eating
and the 2 injections -which will work.

The only thing I can't figure out is
that I can't eat early in the day not until
at least 1 in the afternoon. That makes
the 12 hours to eat at least 1 am.
Also I'd be injecting then too.
Checking my bs would be no issue
as I am up hourly anyway.
It's just a matter of what to eat?
(something soft or liquidy something
Not too salty or sweet no meat
and cheaper - not needing cooked)

Any ideas?

Could you give us an idea of how many carbs you're wanting to eat please? Maybe something milk based??
I'm eating 50 to 100 carbs.
Depending on the soup.
I guess that would increase
Unless I ate the soup in halves.
