Nom - how are your muscles feeling - will post why I've asked such a question on reply. Thanks @hankjam.
We all have our problems.
Seems I have more than most!
*Makes like a train*
During the fat fast I struggled to stay in the "Sweet spot" with my ketones. I mean I actually saw ketones over 6.0 mmol / L - that was a bit worrying!
It was great fun though!
Yeah shame about that and here I was thinking we were rid of him and his northern ways.@nomistheman you're back!!!
Hola merry one - yes that Fulking hill was indeed very steep. Contours nice and tight on the map and when you run out of brighton it does indeed look a task and a half. Aim of the run up there was to test heart rate vs fatigue on and uphill section. What seemed to work was keeping the HR below 166 which is above the range I like to run out but was sustainable without lactic acid build up. so happy with the experiment as rather flat where I live. Mag oil on completion. Calves good for a run out following day. That Fulking hill is very steep, judging by the contour lines! How are your calf muscles holding up? There is a very steep hill near me, but I only climb there if I feel super fit because I hate only getting halfway up!
Hola @nosher8355I'm so glad you all came through your ketosis!
I do believe it's been a successful trial for all three of you.
I can see reading your posts and summary that your energy levels are very good.
Do you feel better?
If tired, do you get that good tired and not lethargy?
As I don't count anything and discount calorie counting as a part of any fast. The amount you eat has dropped? Do you feel more able to control your blood glucose levels?
Have their been any side effects?
Do you plan to stay in ketosis? Or do you intend to have another fast?
I don't suffer from any ill effects from being in ketosis!
Well done all three of you! Congrats!
Is that living and performance? My muscles feel absolutely fine - in fact they are less achey than previous to the fat fast! I've also noticed that I've recovered from my C25K sessions a lot better last and this week - even the one on Saturday just gone!
Interested in knowing why. Perhaps I'll discover that when I finish the two books that arrived today by J. Volek and S. Phinney
Indeed - After a run I mag up on legs for 20 mins while sorting the dog out an necking a bit of protein then have a shower. That and sodium is the answer to a cramp free night.Magnesium works in agontistic (Sp?) harmony with calcium. Calcium fires the muscle - magnesium relaxes it. You knew that didn't you @Baruney ?!
I use magnesium spray on my glutes, quads, hams, calves and those things on front of lower leg. Both before and after a run - it makes a huge difference.
J'sss Nom - I preferred it when your were banned - can I go to bed now!Magnesium works in agontistic (Sp?) harmony with calcium. Calcium fires the muscle - magnesium relaxes it. You knew that didn't you @Baruney ?!

Agreed. Now ****** off - I'm out of here,I was thinking of getting a tattoo to find my way back.
Interesting question. Perhaps the difference between yours' and my experience is that I was more Keto adapted prior to the fat fast?
From what I've read today V & P seem to indicate to me that could be a factor.
What say you?
what was it?Bit of a carb fest yesterday - 156g in fact!
This morning:
Blood Glucose 6.2 mmol / L
Blood Ketones 0.6 mmol / L
So, despite the fest, I'm mildly inky.
@zand Au contraire you did great too and mine was more about the ketones than weight. In saying that I am bang on my bounce point of 15 stone and I just bounce right off it every time - so annoying.I have done water fasts too and I didn't lose as much weight doing them as I did doing my fat fast with over 2100 calories daily. And of course as soon as I started eating again I put weight on. I am still maintaining my 6 pounds loss so far
Well done all of you. You did it a lot more scientifically than me. Great results.
Yes, that would be great timing for me! As long as I can do it the same way as before, do you mind that?Banting!
