Hey there

Just want to make a point of saying the muscle discomfort I experience is varying, but never painful more from slightly noticeable to deep ache like doing sessions at a gym. I have been feeling them for a while, but only decided to ask about it now to see if it's normal (or even to do with diabetes), but obviously it makes me tired and on the worse days feel like someone has taken a hammer to all my muscles making moving from walking to doing tasks difficult.

Has anyone had experiences with this or any information

Many Thanks
DD

What are your BG levels like when you get this? Mine feel like this when I'm too high

I think it's worst when they are high, I haven't been eating properly lately (i have no appetite :/) but been trying to make all meals full of carbs so i'm getting enough to manage

No experience other than over-doing exercise which can make the legs ache, but that has nothing to do with diabetes. Diabetic Neuropathycan effect the nerves which supply the legs and in turn cause similar symptoms to what you have described, but I think your not long been diagnosed so unsure if this would be cause in your case.

Really it's difficult to say what could be the causing your discomfort, better that you see your gp and explain the symptoms to them.

Do you have many hypos?

(I'm a non - medicated type 2, so have no idea if this applies to you)

I get this bruised ache over most of my body for up to 3 days after a bad hypo. Accompanied by 'depression', tiredness, apathy and occasional tearfulness (do NOT watch The Last Samurai in this mood!)

pre-diagnosis my legs in particualr were in agony, waking up with cramps almost every night and massive fatigue. I ran a 23 mile race with cramping for at least a third of it two days before diagnosis, not fun.

Now, pretty well controlled apart from the odd spike, I'd say I'm still getting odd muscle effects.

Sitting here at 5.8 before breakfast (no carbs) both my calves are twitching on theier own, quite an odd feeling. I also get the impression that I'm taking longer to recover from hard sessions and it's easier to pull a mucsle (ribs at the moment). But that might just be the effects of increasing age
