Sorry folks, I am back to hound you again! I suspect it's a good sign that my FBG seems to be almost always in the 4s now, sometimes around 4.2/4.3 I don't eat supper any more. This is as much for the fact that eating late plays my acid problem up. I do realise though, that this means I have had nothing in my stomach from around 6.30pm which doesn't sound a good thing. Add to that the fact that I can't eat breakfast as soon as I get up, and I am wondering if I am not doing my body any favours.

I have been having a piece of Burgen toast with peanut butter every morning at around 10-10.30am for the last week or so and to be honest, I have this because I absolutely can't think of anything else. I can't do the egg thing straight away in the day. I am not tolerating full fat yoghurt and fruit well. I see some people eat all-bran and wondering if I should try though I am not fond of the stuff. This morning I have cut off a piece of cheese and thrown a handful of berries in a ramakin. (not cheese and berries mixed!). What a crazy breakfast! I just don't want to get stuck with burgen and peanut butter for breakfast for the rest of my life!

So, do you eat supper and if so what are you likely to have? What do you have for breakfast? Do you think my FBG are so low simply because I haven't eaten since dinner the night before? (I may have had a cheesestring around 10pm on the odd night though)

My stomach is empty a long time over night. I eat evening meal at 7pm. No supper, no snacks. Just one cuppa after eating then water. I get up about 9am, do a few odd jobs such as feeding the tortoises, garden birds, goldfish. Then I eat breakfast about 9-30. So my fast is always over 14 hours. I would be interested to hear how long other people fast over night and whether this is good or bad for us.

Quite often 14 hours, overnight. I don't see it as an issue. My body has time to process my stomach contents before going to bed, and I rarely wake needing to eat quickly.

Bearing in mind you appeal have spiked on yoghurt and berries, I'd be curious to know if the same happened with cheese. In my experience the spike would be more likely for the berries than full fat yoghurt. But, we're all different.

Because of postural reflux issues, I find I'm much more comfortable going to bed on an empty stomach and tend to also sleep much better.

Read a very interesting blog post today that confirmed I'm probably following a good eating schedule for my diabetes as well as other issues:

Don't know. I suppose I should have done readings but I can't afford too many strips for testing so am only doing FBG and late meal..the biggie! I may do one though another day to see if berries have such a bad effect on me.

Same here. I got fed up of going to bed with indigestion and/or bloating so I stopped eating late. Will take a read of the link..thanks :)
