Hi, my problem is that I'm frightened of the dentist, and I really need to go and get them all out as I have left it to long for them to be saved. Last time I saw a dentist he was not very understanding and made me feel small.
It is at a stage that I am struggling to eat decent foods which are affecting bg and my confidence big time.
The thought of actually making an appointment makes me feel physically sick, any advice friends.

If it's that bad, then you just need to get it done. The dentist cannot and will not do anything you are not comfortable with. If you really cannot handle the situation, then you can request that your extractions be done at hospital under general anaesthesia, however the waiting list is long, up to a year.

Also think twice about having them all removed, dentures are not much fun, if any can be saved, a partial denture may be better.

I can not offer words of wisdom @stewpot65 I have never feared the dentist (good job as I had to visit one weekly when my two front teeth were knocked out as a gal) Think of him as your friend, as mist said he wont do anything you are not comfortable with. I often tell my dentist that if he does hurt me by accident I will accidentally bite off his fingers!! Amazing how gentle he is after that!

Does your dentist use nitros oxide (laughing gas)? Some dentists here will use it if you are nervous. Also for some people the sound is what sets off their fears. If sounds are an issue or if you just respond well to music you could wear some ear buds and listen to soothing music. Sorry you are having to through this but you must tackle it if it is affecting your nutrition.

UK dentists don't use nitrous oxide unfortunately. I've had that stuff thoug and it's very good.

Since May this year, it's been illegal; to possess or supply it in the UK (except for properly authorised persons). But I expect you had it before May, no? ;) :D :D
