Hi I was diagnosed type 2 7 years ago. For 6 years I controlled it with diet only. Then it just felt really difficult and for the last year I've taken 2 X 500mg Metformin a day.
But it seems more difficult to control it. When I was first diagnosed, lowering the carbs made my hba1c drop like a stone to 39. It kept that way for a few years. I wear the libre every now and then and I'm struggling to keep an average of 42 or 6% or 6.9mmol/l.
The slightest thing affects my blood sugar. Mild stress, for instance. Rushing anywhere. Caffeine. Diet coke (I don't drink much but it'll have to go). Any exercise!! I thought that was supposed to help.
Feeling a bit burnt out and down. I've put a lot of effort into this. I'm logging carbs again faithfully.

I'm another 6 average too and feel your pain. Use the libre to look at how quickly you recover from a raise, if its straight up and down with an hour that's better than a prolonged raise or one that lowers only slowly over hours.
I find my bg goes up when I have a shower but is back to normal by the time I've dried my hair. I'm not going to stop showering, it's part of normal life.
Your probably having quick ups and downs.

Look too at the time in range, I bet you'll be surprised at high that is

Imho carb vigilance is going to be lifelong, but without it your average would be soooo much worse, and leading to complications.

7 years in is a huge success. It can't have been easy starting lc back then. You've got through those difficult first hurdles it's just fine tuning now, and watching out for any changes.

You've got this!
