Aged 53 and been diagnosed with Type 2 though my GP said my reading's not too high, only just within the range actually. He prescribed 500mg Metformin once a day for a week, increasing to two a day after 7 days then maybe gradually up to 2000mg a day he said. Took first at 8am this morning and since 11 been sat on the loo. Sorry, TMI but is this just at the beginning? Can you take Immodium or the generic equivalent, which are much cheaper, with this drug? Have to just persevere I suppose but daren't go to the shops even!!!!
Also take losec, 2 tablets to lower BP and one to lower each type of Cholesterol and anti-depressant and water tablet too. It's a wonder I don't rattle when I walk!! Never had side effects with any of those though, not even the muscular pains that lots get with Simvastatin. Guess it's my turn with these though.
Just want to add, don't see the nurse for at least a month as it takes so long here.
