Hiya, Diagnosed with type 2 01/04 this year. Got the levels down with Metformin and Glypizide.
Body rejected Metformin tabs twice a day, so GP put me on slow release 1 tab daily.
All fine levels between 5 and 9, except feeling tired and bloated and flatulance in abundance every evening after taking the medication.
Last Monday felt rubbish-took my glucose level-26.5
Contacted GP who prescribed Glipizide in addition to slow release Metformin, but levels still high 11 to 22.
Tired, grumpy and thirsty, fed up going to pee!
Seeing GP Friday morning,a few questions or help
1/ Can your body reject Metformin or get used to the drug rendering it useless-I havn't changed my diet?
2/ Terrified he puts me on Insulin, is there a weight neutral oral I could get?
3/ Think I;ll just stop eating altogether-that may help. I'm very overweight and insulin resistant
Any thoughts or help greatly received as I feel rubbish and fed up
Brian
