Hi Bob,

I don't know much about Type 2 but just wanted to say hello. With regards to your diet you need to find something that suits you, we're all different. Maybe work out how many carbs you feel comfortable eating with each meal. You shouldn't have to miss out on too much, and if you stick to a low / moderate carb diet you'll find that some of your food cravings disappear anyway.

Do you do any exercise? I hear it's good for the mind although I'm pretty scared of it myself!

Keep reading the posts on this forum, you'll always find an answer and lots of people in the same situation.

That's tough, Bob, and medication does often affect libido/performance. Hopefully your partner will understand, though it must be very annoying for you too. But things will change. I endorse Jessie's recommendation of exercise, as it releases endorphins - the happy hormone. If nobody's looking, you could stick a CD on and move to it for five mins as a taster rather than don running shoes for a marathon! People usually find that getting started even in a small way causes the feelings to follow on. In the meantime, why not just alter what you're eating at one meal first and stick with it and then add in other meals? Not sure how long you've been trying it for, but it's always better to go slow and find it okay than go wham and resent it.
And yes, do stick around here because this is where help and support is to be found! After a whole year on this regime I actually found out about Hartley's low-sugar jellies the other day (from Cugila) and that proves there is always a pot of, er, jelly at the end of the rainbow even if you think life is over :D
Good wishes coming your way!

Get your blood glucose as low as you can manage. If Viagra then don't work ask for an alternative. If the alternative don't work ask for a testosterone test (done by blood sample). Google testosterone + Diabetes; lots of useful reading.

If your testosterone level is below the accepted threshold your doc will have to refer you to an andrologist - its considered a specialism - because deciding the 'fix'depends on where in the hypothalmic-pituarty-gondal axis (or so they say) your problem originates. Apparently its not simply a matter of the 'g' part of the axis.

However, in the end you might get a result without having to resort to the little blue pills.
