Feee style libre in South Shields

Hi I was just wondering if there is anyone who lives in South Shields been prescribed the free style libre on the NHS as I'm waiting to see my doctor about it as I live in South Shields but at Sunderland hospital x

I was told at Sunderland hosp by the specialist that it's going to be something that will happen down the line. But he didn't know how far down the line as all he said was it's down to costs.

Don't know about your area but have been told Gateshead don't allow it to be prescribed yet and when it is it will be to youngsters having problems first.

My son is 11 and he meets the criteria and we will be prescribed it as and when. But funding isn’t yet available in Sunderland. Our nurse will keep us informed.

I'm type2 under Sunderland.
I get the impression if you qualify you could get somewhere with him. A brilliant endo.
