I had 2 hospital appointments today, 1st with the thyroid specalist

He said that my thyroid function is now spot on which cheered me up alot :)

Second was with the DSN with regards to the first 5 weeks of pumping, she said I had done and managed alot better than she ever expected and we changed a few time blocks to try and halt the lows I'am having after I had increased them a little to much to stop the rises I was having mid morning and afternoon. I also came away with an aviva epert as a back-up incase the insight handset fails, and in the box was a free copy or carbs and cals :) plus another 50 test strips, then went to my GP,s to pick up the extra test strips he supplied me with after a call yesterday and to my suprise he had gave me a full 200 and not just 1 tub of 50, SO hopefully now I will be able to get some good fasting basal testing done after my operation on Friday

Sounds like a great day. It's good when some things come together. :)

Good luck with your op on Friday and for a speedy recovery.

Oh good appointments all round, did you get your a1c, was it as good as you wanted/expected. My next appointment is Monday.

@lely, no not had my bloods done and I'am expecting a rise in the A1c results but my results prior where well within very good range (43 or 46 if memory serves me right) but will find that out on my next appointment with the consultant in the coming few month.

@noblehead, you and alot of the people here have been a great resource of knowledge and advice SO I would like to thankyou you all for what you,s have helped me with, if it wasn't for all you guys I may have had a rather different outcome.

In the past I just got on with it and never looked into anything with regards to the diabetes, but since joining here I have learnt so much (and I think all new Diabetics should be advised to join up here at the clinics they attend) as you learn more here than you ever could from appointments at the hospital/Dr,s

@Gaz-M at 43-46. What was your average BG, I've mentioned before I was at 85/86 which I think was average 11-13. My meter is reading average 8.8 for 14 days so I'm hoping for good news (although I realise it's on 3 months not 2 weeks)

Couldn't agree more with the comments about advice and support from the people on here.

8.7 meter reading over the last 90 days but I have been using the old mobile meter on a morning and sometimes during the day since starting on the pump as I have ran out of strips once and paid £26.81 for 50 2 weeks ago @lely but readings from the 5/12/15 highest was 18.5 lowest 3.9
