Hi all. Diagnosed type one last week.
I'm beginning to get some energy back after being put on insulin. My bloods were 30+ before hand and now they are fluctuating between 5 and 19 throughout day.
I know everybody is different and we all deal in different ways, but when will I feel better emotionally?? I'm not at the point where I feel sorry for myself and won't get out of bed or go to uni. However, I'm am finding myself becoming anxious about possible complications. I have heard horror stories about people gaining weight on insulin and that terrified me to the point where I want to just not have the insulin.
I am very active, I do around 20 hours exercise a week and I eat a fairly healthy vegetarian diet that stays within the right amount of calories.
In order to remain positive. Can someone please tell me some nice stories about their journey since their diagnosis?
I am trying to think of it as a positive to keep even better care of myself and to become more in time with my body.
Thank you x
