Did you test your blood sugar when you were experiencing these symptoms? Without a blood sugar test at the time, you're never going to know if it was a hypo.

As to whether 14 units is too much, no one can answer that with the information you have given. What was your blood sugar before giving your bolus? What is your insulin to carb ratio? What were you eating, what was the carb content?

If you started feeling symptoms of a hypo immediately after taking your bolus it is unlikely the bolus caused the hypo because it takes 10-20 minutes or more for a bolus dose to get distributed round the body and start actually working to lower blood sugar.

Did you test your glucose level? A few weeks ago i had similar feelings.. shaky, feeling sick and weak and generally panicking. I tested my blood glucose levels at 5.3 where normally I'd been around 10. I retested 10 mins later at 5.6. When I spoke to my DN.. she said that I'd probably had a rapid drop in levels and that the body sometimes goes into panic mode when this happens even though my readings were still at a safe level. Just to add 14 units of Novorapid would be a lot for me I only take 4 units as advised by my nurse. Hope this post helps.
