feeling down and depressed at minute

Hi everybody,
I received a letter this morning from the specialist saying that he would like to see me again in a couple of weeks! He said that the good thing is that the Mri was clear. But he has no reason what has happened to my eyesight! Both of my eyes are now blurred full time! They feel sore all the time! If I walk out into the sun I can't see what so ever I get blinded by the bright light. Yet as it turns evening and dusk I can't see because it is too dark!
If the sun catches me off guard without my sunglasses then I can't see! It feels like the sun is tearing through my eyes!
I have problems reading now! Everything on my computer is up to maxim now! I write in font 30! that is big letter's! I can't read past the first letter on the eye chart! I have noticed that my side vision is also going now! My right eye is the worst at the minute for that!
Even a magnifying glass is not helping at the minute! I get stabbing pains in my eyes! I also get bad headaches from the trying to read! I am scared what the future holds!
I have always been a very independent person! All of a sudden I am having to ask other people to help me!
I just don't know what to do next! I am worried it is scary being nearly 34 and having full time blurred vision, I am starting to think maybe the specialist because he can't find anything thinks that I might be faking it! I am not I am scared! I feel so alone and scared as there is no reason behind what is happening!
Yesterday I did not even eat as I am so scared and feeling so unwell and down at the minute, tooth hurting real bad! Bad headache, I feel down and depressed!

sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad sandy never give up you are not alone you have plenty of friends here at least the mri was clear i really hope you feel better soon and i will be thinking of you dermot
 
aye keep yer chin up m8 am in a bad way aswell bc off my diabetes ave had a few really sore days with lots of breaking down etc crying am trying tae look tae the future and hope for the love of god everything works out :)

i assume he's ruled out cataracts. I have mild ones and the blinding effect of bright lights is someting i can relate to.
possibly it's something like that he wants to tell you. He hasn't actually told you he doesn't know what's happening has he?
It might not be so bad.
When we worry, It's always about the worst things.

There are no signs of catracts or glaucoma luckly as my mother have both same as my gran on my mothers side!
He said the last time i saw him that he thought that it could be pressure behind my eyes, but the letter says that has been ruled out by the Mri scan coming back clear!
I have phoned his clinic to see when he can see me! I was informed that they will send out a appointment when he is back from holiday! Stupid thing is when i saw him before my eyesight was alot better! There has been so much change with my eyes!
My problem is I worry so much!
I am down so badly at the minute, Does not help that my mothers partner has phoned me and told me that my mum had a heart attack last week! My mum said that she said that didnot want me to know until she was out of hospital!
Oh honestly what can i say she doesnot want me to worry! Oh hello telling me after fact would make me worry more!

Hi hope your feeling better today, i don't know if this will help but when i was at school many moons ago i started having bad headaches and burning behind my eyes i wasn't deiabetic then and had had bad eyes from the age of 2 and wearing glasses since then, after tests they discovered i had light reflective eyes this meant they had become sensative to light this was easy dealt with i now wear tinted glasses with a transition tint on top which helps cut down on the extra light and has helped with the blurred vision and blinding headaches yours might be somthing as simple to put right we always worry about things we don't know about im the same. i hope by telling you this it's made things not seem so horrid for you and that things will be looking up soon take care dumpling
 
IMO you REALLY need a second opinion, is there any way you can get referred to see someone else?

We are both lucky and unlucky here, we are about 20 - 30 miles from three different hospitals which means emergencies can be somewhat fraught and uncomfortable, but the upside is we can get referred to the hospital of our choice, each has different specialists and different accountants and the GPs can recommend which one might be better for any specific condition.

Also our optician knows the various opthalmologists personally, would it be worth asking yours who he would recommend you see?

IF you can afford to go private you may get a completely different answer even from the same consultant.

i understand how you are feeling as i used to suffer terribly from anxiety and depression, im also having a ****** time too at the mo and feeling fed up, i have been diagnosed with m.e and menieres in last two wks and badly broke my foot , i detest not being able to do much so i kinda understand,
hang in there,we are all here for you :D

Poor you totsy! I hope that pain is not so bad! I ended up with broken ankle around 7 years ago! Hurts like hell!
I am not too bad! I have real bad eyepain today! I have doctor's in 40 or so minutes! I am taking my diet book with me! I am still down!
i can't do the things that i am used to, my ashma is getting worse again have to bring that up with gp as well as need inhalers again!
had a cheese salad for lunch, no mayo, no salad cream, it was a small salad, shot blood sugar up to 21.4 Ouch now got real bad head!
Thing is i went shopping earlier and walked into a trolley that i didnot even see there, i think i have hurt my arm, silly me,must remeber to keep my eyes open! Oh they were! But stupid thing is i have noticed that my side vision is now going! My fiancee is worried hopefully i can get to see the eye specialist shortly in the next couple of weeks!
