I was diagnosed as a T2 in January and very soon after that I found this community. Until yesterday I just 'lurked' and ready many posts and absorbed the advice. I was very upbeat that I could get on top of this condition with some changes to my lifestyle and diet. So I sent off for a Codefree tester, lancets and strips and reduced the amount of carbs I had been consuming. I used my tester on some of my favourites foods just to see what happened to my BG levels and the results confirmed what most people on here tell us. I've totally avoided any white carbs and only had a small amount (say 2 slices per day) of Seed Sensations always with plenty of cheese or other fatty fillings. One of my favourites foods is homemade soups and I was horrified with the reading after consuming a small bowl of Scotch Broth (I guess it was all the barley). My own vegetable soup was fine and surprisingly so was my lentil soup. That just shows how valuable the testing is. Porridge was also OK - yay!
Anyway, the last few days have been quite difficult as I'm suffering from a pain in my stomach. It's not actually agony but very unpleasant and I have been wondering if eating fattier foods has caused it. I was so bad today that I didn't eat at all until 17:30 when I had a 3 egg omelette and the pain increased a little soon after I'd eaten. I'm also suffering from a mild headache and have been for the past few days. Could this possibly be related to my T2 diabetes or is it more likely to be something else. I'm not due to see my diabetes nurse until April and will be attending a Desmond course in May.
