The last few days my levels have been all over the place and I have done all the usal checking given the correct carb to insulin ratio, exercise etc. Really getting me down at the moment, was really going well since the DAFNE course and feeling positive, but whenever I feel like not having good control as usal it makes me feel down again and really frustrated about it all. I hate it whever levels are not in range and there is no explanation and then I start worrying about the damage the higher levels are causing. Does anyone else feel like this sometimes as well.

I'm currently having this problem so dot worry you are not alone. The month after DAFNE my control was pretty much perfect but the last few weeks I've been having highs and then lows and then highs... You get the idea. It's so frustrating as I'm carb counting, using proper ratios and I can't get it right!!! Hang in there love, were only human so I guess we can have a couple slips up now and again!

I think we all feel like that at times, I know I do. The best we can hope for is to get it right most of the time, not always. There are always going to be unexpected highs and lows that defy explanation. Unless it's a recurring pattern, it's just water under the bridge, we just have to move on. Hang in there. x

Know the feeling well.
The key thing is to try and keep your BG in the right range on average.
Going for near on perfection the whole time is exhausting and I feel not really conducive to good mental health.
As long as you don't go too wild a little blow out now and then does not hurt.

Similarly, if you levels are up and down for a bit as long as you get them back soon enough a few days is not likely to hurt you.
Have you tried contacting your DAFNE educator and sending over your logs? They may be able to help you if you are a recent graduate.
Assuming you are having hypos I am guessing you are then spiking, correcting and then going hypo again?
Perhaps something you could try to get off this tiring roller coaster is to hold out the correction and push it back a meal, or only give a partial correction so that you let you BG come back down from a high nice and slowly.

That may help prevent a hypo and spike. Also have you checked so see if your bolus is right? Maybe do some overnight tests too.

The main thing is don't beat yourself up. If you need help ask for it, then get things back in line and you will be good. A few bad days is not going to mess with your HbA1c in any huge way but giving yourself a little break and leeway will go a long way to helping you.

Keep up the good fight and I hope things come back in line soon.

/A
