Feeling ill and wondering why?

I have been unable to reach my Diabetes Practitioner, so need some help please? You have all helped me so much before.
I am on Metformin and injecting insulin twice a day. My sugars are slowly coming down after many months of being high and out of control, and I am losing weight gradually on a Slimming World type diet. I should be pleased, but am feeling so ill. I have had two episodes of almost fainting and feeling shaky and sweaty, and I tested at the time and my sugars were lowish, but not abnormally so, about 7/8. I am quite worried that I am doing something wrong, and wondered why I don't feel well? I actually felt better when my sugars were high! Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

All too often, if someone has been high for a considerable length of time, the lowering of blood glucose sort of shocks the system and acts the same as if a genuine hypo was about to grip you. I had the same and after a while it all leveled out and I started to feel less squiffy.
7 to 8 is approaching 'normal' so stick with it and if you still feel worried go and see your GP because we are not trained experts ... good luck.

I've had similar today kristeen.. My metformin has been increased this week...Usually my bs is around 7-9 . About an hour ago i started feeling shaky sweaty et. So tested. My bloods are 6.3. Obviously not low, but my body is apparently adjusting to new levels...
