Hi everyone, sorry if this is in the wrong bit of the forum.

I have been doing a LCHF diet for a month or so now, slowly honing it down and getting it right. The last couple of days, I have been feeling ill. Nothing specific, just nauseous and off my food. This is reflected by having low bloods, seldom did I have BS below 8 in the mornings, but the last two mornings they have been below 7.

Last night, I didn't know what to cook for dinner so we had a carry out. I had a half portion of Singapore rice which I new would be carb heavy. I didn't particularly enjoy it either! Bloods two hours later were 7.8. This morning my bloods are 11.8.

But the good news is, I feel great.I don't feel sick and I am ready for a paddle!

So the question is, am I dropping the carb intake too low too fast (typically below 30) or will my body slowly adjust to this?

I have had the carb flu, I don't think it is that, I still have energy, just feel sick. But nothing serious I should add or I would see GP.

I would think this is normal adjustment as your body is adjusting to using fat for energy rather than carbs. I recall I went through something similar; but it only lasts a few days. Have you checked for ketones? I keep my carb intake at around 50g per day, as my body is happy with this.

Now my BGs are usually in the 5-6 range and keeps me feeling great. (I was off the scale for the meter at diagnosis, with a HBa1c of 101)

Keep up the good work.

Might be you just had a bug and are now over it. 30 carbs is not too low and many on the forum, including me, are lower than that. However, if you were in ketosis you aren't any more. Ah well today is a new day.

Now this is a ball game I have not played before. I Googled it and I think I might have been in ketosis.

I have been for a paddle today and feel generally speaking, much better. Bloods this evening are below seven so all is good in my world. But I will keep an eye on things.
