Welcome to the forum @Clairebear2005 At this time of the year I eat a lot of soups, they are good cold and if the weather is chilly quick to heat in a microwave. People have already given you a lot of advice about foods, if you have ready prepared meals check the number of portions in the pack and the number of carbs per portion, most meals will have that somewhere in the small print. The other strand that goes with type 2 is exercise. I don't mean going out for long walks or joining the gym, start simply with a couple of soup tins from the cupboard ( the contents of the tin will be mashed by the time you finish with them!) and sitting on a firm chair to swing them up, out to the side and across your body, whatever you are able to do. If you can do this for a couple of minutes 2 or 3 times during the day the effect is cumulative. If you are able to walk a bit that is even better. Don't forget to reward yourself for each small step achievement, a flower to go in a vase, start a scrap book of photos of good times, borrow a video from the local library (they often have them for free for people with a disability) whatever you enjoy doing. You will feel better in yourself for getting outside while the weather is fine.
