Feeling low and high blood sugars

Hi everyone

I don't normally post, but I have been feeling extremely lost.
I have been ignoring my diabetes condition for a long time. I went to the doctors, and they said hba1c is 112 , thyroid is under , cholesterol has gone up sky high.

Since iv been doctors, I have cut down eating most things trying to be alot more healthier , my heart has been beating fast.

I've been taking all my meds on time and with food, etc. Morning readings have been at 10.1

I feel like my levels won't come down.

What else can I do to reduce the blood sugar levels?

My body is extremely tired. I haven't told any of my family members I have diabetes , I just don't want to be judged.

I want to do my very best to bring these levels down I don't want to end up on insulin.

Advice, tips and any information is appreciated

Thank you for reading.

Would you like to share what you're usually eating and what medication you are on for your diabetes?

With an hba1c of 112, your average numbers throughout the day must have been higher than your morning reading.
The morning reading is the only one you can't directly influence, but you can definitely do something about your numbers during the rest of the day!

Prior to the last appointment I was eating everything, binge eating on cakes, crisps, chocolates , take out food, u name it. I think I was just on self destruct mode (feeling shameful writing this) . Not taking my meds.

Last week and half ago my hearts been beating fast and hands been feeling tingly.

Since this week iv been having weetabix , soya milk ,corn crackers , proteins foods and veg

Iv been really watching what jv been eating and taking my meds.
Thyroxine, glyz (i dont k ow how to spell it) metformin 6 a day , statin.

Iv been testing myself at home I keep checking levels.

I'm just so paranoid I keep thinking I'm going to end up on insulin I don't want to. Plus I don't wanna end up in hospital I'm really scared, my own fault I know.

I'm eating my meds, trying to eat the right foods, but keep thinking I'm doing everything wrong.

You're definitely not doing everything wrong!
For starters, you've reached out here to find support in getting a grip on your diabetes, and that's no small thing, well done. :)

I think you might want to have a closer look at what you're eating.
As a diabetic, it's carbs we can't deal with very well. All carbs turn to sugar in your body.
I take it you already have a meter? You can use it to see how you react to different foods by testing before eating, and then again two hours later.

The Weetabix is likely not doing you any favours, so what about testing before and after, and on another day try a breakfast of bacon and eggs (or eggs and cheese if you don't eat meat), and see the difference in results on your meter?

If you'd like to read a simple introduction to how T2 works, I'd read this piece by one of our members: https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html

Don't give up, there's lots you can do!
And if it turns out you need more medication than the metformin you're currently taking, there's a whole lot of medications to try before insulin.

Thank u

Ok I will test before and after . I did buy my own machine as doctors say they cannot give us one.

Iv been navigating around the forum its good information so glad it's here.

Will keep a close eye on food intake. Quite difficult with the holidays but I have most definitely restricted alot so far , and will continue to. This has been a very big wake up call for me

:)
