Re: Feelinglow with no where to go.
Hi again blue pippy,
From this and other communications that we have had previously, it does seem as though you are over worrying about your blood glucose levels. It would seem from your posts that your doctors are more worried about your low weight at this stage.
Certainly, with fasting blood glucose levels - i.e. your morning readings - in the 5s and an HbA1c of 5.5% then whatever your diabetic state then you seem to be well in control of your situation - most of the time anyway.
My advice would be to try to relax a little bit more about your diabetic situation - whatever it is. If you are worried about the high peaks in your blood glucose levels that is sensible but just cut back on the starchy carbohydrate that you eat - i.e. cereals, bread, potatoes, pasta and rice. It is those foods - i.e. the mashed potato in the cottage pie - that will almost certainly be causing the high readings.
Personally, I can take a lot of carbohydrate just so long as I eat it as fruit and vegetables. Why not try that - your meter will soon tell you if it doesn't work for you?
What happened to the "nuts, cream and cheeses" - they are all high calorie foods that should help you with your weight . Also, what about meat and fish - especially oily fish such as sardines and mackerel - they should help you with your weight too and do nothing to harm your blood glucose levels?
Best wishes - John
