Had my review today with my GP, he has started me on metformin as of tomorrow morning. I am a little wary after reading some stories about upset tums, glad I work from home.
I feel now after several weeks of testing and my levels still staying highish in the morning(but not as high as in the begining) that I am now going to get that bit closer to feeling ''better''. Im pleased that my levels have come down quite a bit , just having problems with mornings more than anything. Will be so glad to get rid of that muggy/drowsey feeling that I need to sleep off in the mornings.
I was a bit disappointed that I had not lost any weight since I last been to the doctors(had been trying) but was told not to worry as he wasnt expecting a weight loss. Hopefully will start to see it coming off soon (however I have gone down a size in jeans
) I have a wardrobe full of ''smaller'' clothes just waiting to be worn again
As long as everything goes well with the meds I dont have to go back for 4 months when they will call me for a full diabetic review inc bloods.
After reading some of the problems some of you have had on here regarding test strips, HCP who dont seem to care and all the information about what to eat I think I have been very lucky with this GP.
Thank you all for all your posts
