Hi,

First time poster. Just joined this forum.
I sit on both sides of the fence I suppose insofar as I've had T1 for coming up to 25 years (30 this year) and I'm also a mental health professional delivering various psychological interventions to whoever will listen.

Totally agree with a lot of what has been said so far. Some really inspiring and humbling words. I have had a couple of complete meltdowns brought on by DKA which brought me to the work I do now. I have some complications but nothing that severely limits me. Going through a rough patch at the moment but I always come back to something that has already been said in previous posts; this condition doesn't control me. I control it. From a psychological perspective, that's what helps me get back on track. Reflecting on what HAS worked in the past and noting that this blip is only a drop in the ocean, which it might not seem like at the time. I really value knowing that I'm not alone with this although sometimes it feels like it. It might be worth speaking to your GP about what psych interventions (this doesn't make you crazy) are available. Sometimes the initial catharsis, similar to venting on here can be really useful. Framing this in the right way might help set up a really proactive problem solving approach towards your diabetes care.

Every day is a battle but it will only make you stronger.

I know how you feel I think we all do with people not understating the severity of the disease and what we have to go through on a daily basis, it's gets me down sometimes especially been type 1 counting carbs and testing BG so many times a day I loose count and then injecting every meal and every 24hrs, I also have coeliac disease which is an absolute pain when eating out anywhere, sometimes I just think what is the point sometimes but I have a very understanding and sympathetic family and a great specialist nurse who help me through it all, keep your chin up and try and manage it as best you can that's all any of us can do.

Steve

They is cure for many deceases in the same way there is remedy for diabetics..And the medicines are available online.

buy modalert online
modalert purchase online

The cure for many "deceases "is to carry on living . Unless of course, you are one of the Undead.

Garlic and sharpened stakes, anyone?

(Modalert is possibly the most apt name I have come across for posts that try to flog you dubious online "cures" LOL )
