I asked a question about thirst yesterday and people were very helpful but I find on looking back that I want to eat everything I see .I am trying to keep away from carbs and everything else that I shouldn't eat and I need the bathroom more frequently. The other thing is that I feel very shaky inside and out . Any help would be appreciated Terri

Hello @Terri333 - have you seen your GP about these symptoms ? It could be a issue with your medication, however a GP would be able to provide more specific advice about this.

Hi Terri, are you on metformin? That can upset your stomach.

I am not an expert and still only learning, so I can only tell you about my experiences so far! I keep a food diary and a record of all my readings. I am doing the low carb high fat diet with the fasting 5/2 diet. Like you, I found I was starving, I'm not a saint but as best I could kept reminding myself why I'm doing it. I craved carbs like they were going out of fashion. The shakyness could be craving or just your body reacting to the new diet. I would keep a record of it and if it gets worse perhaps speak to your GP. I found drinking lots of water helps with the hunger and the cravings. I have just started week 4 of my plan, the last couple of days I have started to really feel good. I have more energy and don't feel as hungry. I do allow myself a treat but try to keep it to maybe once a week. This seems to be working for me, but you need to do what works best for you.

Keep asking questions and you will get as much support as you need. Take it easy. Paula

Are you eating enough? Don't worry about calories for the moment. What are you eating on a typical day?

I possibly am not eating enough I am a carers for my three family members and sometimes I need to skip a meal or so and maybe I'm not always making the right choices so for the next week I am going to chart everything I will make the time

A lot of my meals consist of low carb crackers and cream cheese I also eat a lot of pre cooked meat ham and chicken and I love eggs I don't sleep very well so sometimes I will have a meal when everyone is asleep but that messes with my fasting blood glucose reading in the morning
