Feeling so down.

Thanks Jack!412 MUFAs are Mono Unsaturated Fatty Acids by the way. I don't "eat to my metre" as don't have one, but I am not ruling out testing. Maybe there needs to be more on these forums about healthy fats, rather than people advising butter and cream!
@Andrew S I think when you read what members on a LCHF diet, say about fats, you will soon learn that various types of butter and cream that are very healthy.
The more we realize how these large food companies hold ties with Health Authorities with regard to power, advice on our health may not be as honest as we think.
When you say you do not eat to your meter, don't you think a meter could be useful towards your control.
Although I am not on a LCHF diet, the current climate regarding our health and good fats is very much in their favour world wide.

I do think so Izzi, I do plan to get a meter, sorry about my previous typo "metre"! I have an open mind on LCHF and will read more around the subject, including the forum.

So perhaps you could start a discussion thread about this?

Remember Low carb, High fat are relative terms and you need to find the levels that work for you. Some here are low carb and having about 30g a day, I concider myself reduced carb having about 100g a day, a quick calculation from before I changed put my intake at about 220 - 250g per day. High fat doesn't mean eating packs of butter by itself, just not going for specifically low fat options. Instead of padding a meal out using loads of starchy foods accept having smaller portions of high quality food, including enough fat so you aren't left feeling hungry half an hour later.

I have done on the low carb forum. Thanks for the suggestion. I seem to be very "fat sensitive" by the way in that a couple of days of one meal with chips, or even a pack of crisps would start bringing up spots on my face!

Ouch!

Then I quite understand why you avoid fat!

Is there any correlation between the type of fat and your breakouts?

Mr B has a bit of a skin problem with too much cheese. But for him 'too much' = half the cheese output of a small dairy herd. He is not moderate in his appetite for blue cheese.

I haven't checked which types of fat lead to "breakouts". When I used to eat chocolate it would happen too! The odd square of high cocoa choc, or even the odd bar of milk chocolate is fine nowadays!
