feeling tight in the chest and air hunger

Hello to all,
from a couple of days I have a tight feeling in the chest, but in reality I have the belly so swollen and tense and I feel as if I had eaten a whole cow, but I have not eaten anything. I have a slight twinge in the liver area that comes and goes. Last night I went to A & E thinking of having a heart attack. They made me ECG and blood tests but found nothing. It is not the first time that happens to me, they have also done the exam on the treadmill, but I stopped after a while because I could not take more, and even there they told me that I have nothing to heart. They recently added to my usual 3000mg metformin, Jardiance but I don't see any improvement my BS still around 10. This week I have to go traveling after 6 years of no holidays and am afraid to be sick on the plane or somewhere. Do you have any good advice? I add that if I act or do efforts this air hunger comes.

Thanks

Tony

That sounds very worrying.

Can you get an appointment with your doctor, before you travel?
And have you had a good look at the contraindications of all your medications?
And whether there are any known conflicts between them?

This website may help:

Thank you Brunneria:
1) No didn't arrange an appointment with the GP even because if I am lucky can have one in 2 weeks
2) I had just read the metformin controindication are exactly my symptoms https://www.drugs.com/sfx/metformin-side-effects.html
3) I checked the website you gave me and seems there are no conflicts

Thanks

Tony

This is very similar to something I went through, I had a few weeks of it and was concerned, like you all my tests came back fine, we always tend to think it is diabetes related, you could have tweeked a rib out of place or pulled a muscle in your chest. Are you possible allergic to oil seed rape, this is more common than what you think and can make you feel very tight chested, it does to me.

I feel your concern.
My advice is to monitor your pains and symptoms.

Take your diary of symptoms back to gp for investigation.

Thank you everybody for your suggestions. A quick update. Last night I went to one out of hours GP, after called 111, I explain him that I was affected by all the metformin side effects included metallic taste. He suspected reflux and prescribed me Gaviscon. Probably didn't understand me, btw since last I suspended the metformin and now I feel more and more better. I just got the Jardiance which of course not drop the BS but is just to stay covered. I went to an out of hours GP because otherwise with mine the first slot available is in 2 weeks.
Thanks again for everybody
