Feeling very hungry

Hello. Is one of the symptom of T2 diabetes feeling very hungry all the time but only for something sweet, it's driving me mad. I can't sleep I'm so hungry, I'm not a big eater usually. I'm pre diabetic and worried.

Do you mean do I take my blood sugar? Then answer is yes and it's 8.5 two hours after eating not bad considering I had chips. I don't know the symptoms of a hypo I obviously have never had one. How do you feel?

If it helps, I had exactly the same problem. 30 minutes after a meal, no matter how big that meal had been, I'd be guzzling a packet of choccy bics or wolfing down a bowl or two of ice cream.

Within a few weeks of lowering my carbs, reducing meal portion sizes and cutting-out sugar entirely, I'd seen the spikes in my BG come down and the sugar craving stopped and it hasn't come back.

It left without saying goodbye - I suddenly realised one day that I'd stopped needing something sweet but I couldn't work out exactly when it happened.

Hang on in there; it'll come right soon. In the meantime, try the usual low carb snacks or drink some plain water when you feel hungry - fills you up, no calories and has other health benefits too.

When I am hungry, I eat. Some cheese or nuts, maybe with half an apple if I have been good. To have a little something before I got to bed helps me sleep better.

Fruit and cheese sounds good I will try that tomorrow, I also thought of peanut butter and apple how about that.

limit the amount of fruit! I only have half an apple, in slices, together with some brie or cheddar or whatever cheese I happen to have as I am not sure how much apple I can have without getting my bg too high. Fruit is after all mostly sugar.
