Feeling Weird

Some of the "candidates" in the Apprentice - I would never have employed some of the nasty individuals that pop up as potential employees in this show. If they are the best on offer then heaven help us!
I have been having a very strange day. Recently, my dawn readings finally dropped into the 6's and have been around 6.1 / 6.2 for the last 2 weeks. After 2 years of the morning reading being in the 7's it was nice to finally get there. That's why I was surprised this morning to get an 8.4. Two hours after breakfast I was up to 9.6 then it started to drop and I started to feel weird. Felt dizzy, slightly sick, tingles, ears felt they needed to pop.

3 hours post breakfast I had dropped to 6.7 and 30 mins later 5.4 (that was when I felt really weird and unwell). I hadn't eaten since breakfast but I've had a couple of choc chip oatcakes and a lot of water now. BG back at 6.4 now.

I'm not on insulin, only take 2 x 500 Metformin (one in morning and one in evening). BP has been a bit low (91/69). I was beginning to suspect I am catching something as I usually feel weird when something is brewing. Only other thing I did that was different yesterday was I had my annual flu jab. It seems to be passing over now thankfully but I was surprised at the drop from 9.6 to 6.7 then to 5.4 - Metformin usually doesn't make that big a difference. Anyone have any theories?

PS Nice to see calm restored to the forum again and it back to doing what it does best.

May well be a reaction to the flu jab, keep an eye on it and if it happens again then speak to your gp.

Yes, that flu jab this year has caused problems in people that usually sail through the procedure just fine. Its not just in the UK but according to friends in France, over there too.
I had no problems last year, but like some others, felt odd for about a week after the vaccination.
If it goes on for too long it would be a good idea to speak to your GP about it.

My brother also had problems for a couple of days after his flu jab. The only time I had problems with it before was when they did the 2 jabs one for seasonal flu/one for swine flu. As soon as they went to the combined jab I was fine. Had a sweating attack but starting to feel a bit better now. Will be seeing the Doc next week anyway but hopefully this is it passing over now
