Feeling wobbly and losing balance

Hello Again everyone
Can someone please help with this; my hubby has been complaining lately of feeling wobbly and tripping when walking. He loses concentration too and is quite irritable. His blood sugar is alright-bw 6.5-6.7 before meals. What could be the cause? He is on metfomin three times daily, glicazide once a day and simvastin at night only.

Ask him to try this but stand behind him when he does it.
Stand with feet about 1 foot apart toes pointing slightly outwards.
Arms by his sides fingers pointing straight down
Close his eyes

My guess is he will start swaying in about. 20 seconds and start to topple over.... I DID and a MRI SCAN found I had a slipped disc in my lower back and one in my neck. I have seen a specialist and theyre not sure how diabetes fits into the problem but it just does. I now use a walking stick just to help me with my balance when out walking anywhere and thd discs will be dealt with at some point. I'm 50 yo and have been type 2 for 10 years and this Balance thing came on slowly over time after a RTA in 2009. Hope this helps a bit and if it does ask your GP if you can be referred to an orthopaedic specialist. I've heard of a couple more similar cases where diabetics have found they have some sort of back/neck prob due to balance probs. I also suffer from pins and needles and cramps in my legs

Merry christmas everyone and thank you very much for the response. I have advised him to make an appointment with Doc to check statin dosage because even he has been complaining about it. Thanks.

Me too. Problems with statins - wobbly jelly feeling in legs; could not walk in a straight line; foggy brain and difficulty putting a sentence together. Came off statins and problems disappeared.
