Can anybody advise if it is possible to feel hypo coming on when bloods drop below 9? I get sweats, lightheaded, etc. but when I check my bloods I'm still over what the medics say is the right level. Only stops when I up my sugars
Have you spoke to your diabetic nurse about this? i think if your sugars run high for a long periods your body gets used to it so when it goes lower than your normal usual readings then your body thinks you are to low and shows hypo symptoms. I would definatley get in touch with your diabetes team to get things sorted
Dont know what meds you are on but I beleive its unusual for type 2 to have hypos but I have had a similar experience last week I beleive they call it a false hypo .its usually because you have been running high for so long that when you come down you get hypo like symptoms. Apparntly the worst thing you can do is feed it sugar as this may train you body to expect it and you will struggle to keep below without feeling badly
Are your sugar levels high in general? I had a period when my BMs would be high for weeks on end and I would have felt hypo at 9. It could be that you need to increase your insulin to bring your overall BM down and that will solve your problem
