Try compeed gel foot blister plasters. I used to do a lot of hillwalking and climbing and these were a godsend when breaking in new boots. They are quite expensive but extremely effective.

Wear very thick socks and indoor slippers.

Getting a blister and being unable to stop in the middle of a golf match I once wrapped a cigarette packet round my foot and stuffed it back in the shoe. A Senior Service packet it was and it worked a treat. The rough inside stuck to the foot and the smooth outside slid round inside my shoe very well.

Don't try this at home folks.

i need something before i go really but i will have a look for some whilest in town!! tell you what my feet are hurting just sat here! 3hr walk seemed a good idea at the time but my feet tell me otherwish now lol! :(
i read somewhere about wearing 2 pairs of socks to stopp rubbing but tbh its too warm for that and plus my feet would stink lol!
i cant see it would help more like to make worse with 2 pairs i would have thought tbh

also i soacked them in salt water when we got back to ease em but hasnt helped :|

good fitting shoes or boots and two pairs of socks are good at preventing blisters, but you also need to be aware of any hospots on your feet, its those that generally become blisters. Once had a blister that completely covered my big toe while up a welsh mountain, freezing cold and soaked, it had already buirst by the time I noticed it but I got a compeed on it and was able t walk back again and continue walking without much pain for the rest of the week. They promote healing too.

cheers Thommothebear i will deffo have a look whilest in town 2moz and maybe find some thin socks too!
are the hiking socks any good? someone has said they have like a double layer to them?

walking socks are good - the sealskin ones are waterproof but I always wear one thin cotton seamless pair and a thicker woolen outer pair. its the seams I usually have bother with causing hotspots. you need to have shoes or boots about half a size bigger than normal though.

yeah seems are my down fall i have 2 pairs of seemless diabetic socks but guess what silly me didnt have a pair on today  think i am gonna have a look in town for some walking socks tomorrow and if not get a pair of think cotton ones and then when walking dog wear 2 pairs for now see if it helps.
i turn seemed socks inside out which does help a little.
