Felling unwell

Hi
I am 63 and have type 2 I am on 3x 850 mg Metformin a day. for the last few weeks I have been very tired and felling sick and off my food not sleeping well at night and passing a lot of water and being thirsty . On my last review with my doctor my blood sugar levels have gone up but not a lot. I have lost 2 stones in weight and the doctor said I need to lose another 1/2 stone. Is any one else experiencing or had the same general felling of not being well ?
 
Do you know what your glucose level is at the present time. It may not be due to your diabetes at all but it could be a virus or a even a UTI...bladder infection as you say you are peeing a lot

Hi there, sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Can you outline for us what method you are using to lose weight? I myself was diagnosed after a month long, low fat, high carb calorie restricted diet where I had lost weight but started to feel very ill. If you are not following it now, maybe consider looking at LCHF ?

I was going to slimmimg world I lost 2 stones then I got to a stage where I was just yo-yoing losing one week putting on the next. My last 3 visits to the doctor my weight as not changed. But I need to lose a bit more. I have started to walk and cycle and I am waiting to see the dietician. So at the moment trying to eat right but not much of a appitite at the moment
 
You may well find that your slimming world diet is deficient in both natural fats and taste. Your blood sugars on fasting are fairly low in the morning because you are eating such a calories restricted diet but the actual swings after food are too high. It may be the violent swings which then give you both the thirst and the feeling ill.

If you follow the recipes on here - or at dietdoctor.com for a while you may find that this roller coaster improves.

Good just as well to check if it is an infection. I would not worry about diet until you feel better not the best time to think about food when you are poorly and don't want to eat much.. People often reach a plateau with their weight loss even with LCHF and it does stop for while then they find they do start to loose weight again so I am sure you will to but well done on the weight you have lost thats brilliant
