Festive drinkies

I will start by saying I am not a big drinker these days so I have no idea what effect alcohol has on my blood sugar levels. Can anyone give me some idea of what drinks are good, bad or worst for sugar levels? Does the cream in drinks like Baileys lower the impact of blood sugar?? Does the effect of alcohol carry over to the next day?

I'd imagine Bailey's would have a detrimental effect on bg levels. Most spirits like gin, vodka & whisky seem fine as do most red wines.

I find dry wines fine, both red and white. Baileys can put my BS up as its a bit sweet, same with sweet sherry, etc.

So I generally stick to wine or spirit
