Few days where can't eat

After reading through threads here, and other places online, I understand that what I'm going through is probably side effects of metaformin. I started on 28th Nov and for wee while was fine, little upset but nothing much, and I found here (thank goodness) and started low carb. I'd just kinda 'got it' and got my carbs to under 20g a day and felt pretty good. Then on Sat I made dinner, lovely rump steak and mushrooms but ended up throwing half out as just couldn't eat it. Sun was worse, woke to feeling really queasy and all I had that day was a breakfast bar (my old slimfast ones 16g carbs and low sugar not ideal I know but all I could manage) and that was spread out over the day, couldn't eat all at once. Yesterday, yuch, half bar in morning and nothing else until evening when I had, believe it or not, a freaking no sugar jelly pot - was all I could stomach. Today, half bar in morning and so far nothing else. Now, I have enough padding to keep me going for a while lol, and I've been doing my meter readings, nothing dramatic, around the 4ish, and am drinking, water, flavored water. So, my question is, and sorry took so long to get here - how long do I let this go or is it ok for me to leave it for longer before taking action like calling doc? I'm ok with leaving it as I don't feel ill like having a bug or anything, but even the smell of hubs cooking his lunch earlier had me gagging and wondering if this should ease off soon?

Metformin really does a number on my insides - it reminds me of the time I ate a load of sugar alcohols and almost exploded. Added to that I feel sick, and really dismal. I don't eat a lot despite my size, but when I can't eat I have no energy.

I would give it a bit of time and see if it passes. If it does not pass then go see your doctor. As long as you are drinking enough and not risking dehydration or going hypo then a week or so will not hurt you. If it continues then it might be worth asking your doctor for the extended release version of the metformin.

Yup been feeling yuch, I also have a stomach ulcer and reflux which I'm on meds for, so this on top isn't fun!

Thanks, as I said I have enough padding to keep me going for a while lol, and I've seen some stuff online saying about the extended release form so I might ask for that, if this doesn't pass. I'm drinking enough and readings aren't too low so not worried on that front just that as I work for myself from home and my schedule is rather full I can't afford to be ill or take time off.
