Few questions

Hi everyone, first I would like to say, that I'm not diagnosed yet and maybe I will never be. But lately few things started to bother me and it scares me, so I came here to ask all of you few questions. I know that you have many people like me here every day and I will be glad for every response I will get.

I'm going to GP tommorow, because I have many symptoms of diabetes. Unending thirst (I can drink how much I want and I'm still thirsty), increased urination (so annoying), I'm unable to put on some weight and right now I'm loosing it. Every time i go to sleep, my legs are tingling and burning. Sometimes when I wake up I can't feel my hand or leg. It's scary and it never happend to me in the past. Also my heart beats very fast sometimes even when I sit in front of computer and I breathe heavily. I did a lot of research (this site and forum, it's perfect) and everything points to diabetes. I'm 19 years old, I was very healthy until now. Well, that's my story. First question I have: I bought DIAPhan today, so I could test my urine and everything was negative. I'm wondering...Can I believe it? How much accurate is it? And my second question: Is there any illnes, which symptoms are very similar to diabetes?

I know I should wait for tommorow, but I'm too nervous to do that. I hope you understand. And sorry if my english isn't perfect, I'm not native speaker but I'm trying

Hi.
Welcome to the Forum.

Whilst some of the symptoms might indicate Diabetes there are many other conditions which have the same type of symptoms. Sorry, I don't propose to discuss them as we are unable to diagnose on here. We can however offer advice if you are diagnosed as a Diabetic.

You really will have to voice your concerns with your Doctor tomorrow and see what the diagnosis is.

Let us know how you get on.

I agree with Cugila, the doctor is the best place to get answers for your symptoms, we can only say good luck and if you do happen to be diagnosed with diabetes come back and you'll find some great tips and support here. :)

And i also think your english is pretty **** good seeing as its not your native language. :)

hya and welcome,
good that u are seeing the doctor as they are the only ones who can diagnose you, it could be diabetes or a mountain of other things so your doctor will definately be able to help, let us know how u get on :D

Let us know how it goes :)

all the best.

Well, doctor told me, that I'm perfectly fine. The problem is I don't feel fine at all :D I read on internet, that having 6,3 mmol/l in the morning isn't excatly normal especially for me. I'm trying to get rid of acne so I eat really lot of fruit and vegetable, I drink green tea, play florball and ride a bike. I don't eat sweets, only occasionally. My BMI is 18.94. It's just a big surprise for me, having above normal level of glucose in my blood. I just hope that I won't wake up in a hospital one day :)

Not everybody fits into one category. I wouldn't worry with a glucose of 6.3, but if you are still worried go back and see a different doctor as you have every right to feel you are fine, and if you don't then it needs to be investigated further, especially as you say you have a healthy lifestyle.

Remember not everything you read on the internet is reliable and i would definately trust a doctor then most sources of information on the internet which anybody can make up!

I'm sure you won't wake up in hospital, but if you are still worried and don't feel like your regular self, go back and ask for more tests as diabetes is one of manyt hings that can make you have those particular symptoms :)

That's good you won't have to worry about controlling any Diabetes then. :D

Even a non-Diabetic Bg numbers will fluctuate throughout a 24 hr period, so your numbers are nothing to be concerned about. My son who is not Diabetic can get mega levels after eating or drinking, but he is quickly back down to normal non-Diabetic levels within an hour or so whereas I would be struggling for hours. That's the difference between us.

Don't worry yourself about something which is not a problem.......eat healthy and look after yourself.

True :D

And yeah, I guess you are right :) I won't worry and maybe the symptoms will go away. And if not, I will see my GP once again.
