Been on FIASP for a week now, and despite early signs of encouragement I'm starting to feel that it's less predicatable than Novorapid. FIASP clearly works quicker and is great in the morning to prevent 'liver dumps and/or Dawn Phenomenon, but I cannot fathom how 'correction shots' seem to take affect slower than with Novorapid - for an insulin that works quicker prior to meals how can this be the case? I'm not new to this game as was diagnosed in 88' and have excellent control but found over last 2/3 years that Novorapid was working slower so really wanted FIASP to work :)

…..Additionally it also appears that I need slightly more FIASP and that it tails off slightly quicker - I appreciate we are all different but annoying when a new product is no better than the last. :(
My Basal (Tresiba) is fantastic & was a game changer for me when I swapped from Levemir a couple years ago

Hi I have been on Fiasp for over a year, previously on Novorapid. I found a big improvement when switching to 6mm needles. Novorapid was taking well over an hour to kick in for me whereas Fiasp takes 15 -30 minutes for me, I did used to get unpredictable timings but the needle change made things more consistent. I agree I think Fiasp does wear off a bit quicker. I am interested in your comment about Tresiba, my nurse has suggested I switch from Levemir, why has this been so much better for you?

Hi - I was on Levemir for many years but found over time I needed more and more and concluded that I was just not responding to it efficiently. I switched to Tresiba which works really well for me. I always spilt my basal (12/12) which gives me a near perfect background balance . I’m also on 6mm needles - I will persevere with FIASP for another couple weeks in the hope it improves but I am already thinking I may switch back to Novorapid which i appreciate can be ‘sluggish’ but at least more predictable ‍♂️.

Thank you, that’s interesting I currently have the same issue with Levemir. My nurse is calling again in a couple of weeks I might try switching too.

I’m sure you won’t be disappointed - tresiba peaks after about 8-10 hours & works better for me when I split dose (I also split Levimir). I started by taking same amount but began reducing over time & have finally halved the amount of tresiba in comparison to Levimir - good luck

Thank you ! I think I will give it a go
