Finally......Hello!

Even tho I have been posting and asking questions, I felt it proper to introduce myself.

Today , my doctor confirmed I am a Diabetic

My gs count was 15.2 and thankfully none was found in my urine test this morning, so I am starting with diet only at the moment.

She is concerned about my liver function tests as they are high (nothing to do with diabetes she said) more likely my Coeliac disease and so is sending me back to my gastrologist asap.

So, all in all, not sure what to think.

I am trying to get my head around a low carb diet and am waiting to see my dietician about both diets and combining....

Thanks to all those who have been most helpful and i hope to give as well as receive....

Just bumping up my original Hello as I wanted to let others know, if there are any, who also have Coeliac Disease and are learning to combine the 2 diets as it were...

I must admit this has been the hardest thing for me....ever. I find a food I like that is gluten free (g/f) and then realise it is a NO as the carb content is too high or the sugar levels are way too high as well...ahhh

Still, it is doeable, and like everyone else, who am sure did at the onset of diagnosis, I have my bad days and good days BUT glad to say the good days are MORE!!

I don't have coeliacs but I can't eat wheat. I have found that it helps with eating less carbs because I avoid all bread and pasta. I don't replace them with wheat free versions.
