hi guys finger pricking in the mornings is it just me or does anyone else have a problem getting blood out of their finger, my hands are really cold first thing an even when i put my lancet on number five it still takes a few attempts to get blood to make a reading. Is there any other place i can use to take a reading no matter were i try on my fingers be it the tip the pad or the sides its a royal pain.

I normally use both sides of each finger and I use AST cover to get blood from the base of my thumb and the side of my hand just around the crease and not next to your little finger just above it but that is the only places you can test on your hands and fingers marty_kuh

I find it difficult to get any blood from my fingers if they are cold.
I agree with @Jenniewren1958: try to warm them before pricking.
Unfortunately, you have to be careful not to warm them too fast as this may cause chill blains.
I try to warm mine under a warm tap or around a cup of tea.

May also be worth checking why your hands are so cold first thing in the morning as it may be a sign of circulation problems.
For me, it is Raynaud’s but this comes with white fingers as well as cold ones.
