First Diabetes Maternity Appointment

I have my First Maternity appointment Friday with the diabetes team at hospital...the lady I spoke to said to expect to be there for about 3-4 hours, what do they do there???? I know to take all of my medication with me etc
 
I can't remember exactly how long mine lasted, but some of that time could be waiting around. At mine, I waited then saw a midwife first who did bloods, urine and blood pressure. Then I waited again until I saw the team. I think the total time I was at the hospital was maybe two hours, but the time in with my team was probably something like 45 mins. They talked about pregnancy, diabetic control, what appointments I'd have, etc.

It's good if you have questions that you write them down. It's so easy to forget when you're there!

You might also be offered a scan, but I refused that and waited for the 12 week one.
 
Hi did you goto any diabetes pre conception clinics so you know the team?
They will do your hba1c, see the midwife, diabetes team etc. I was often there a couple of hours and sometimes 4-5 depending.
How many weeks are you now? Congratulations!
