First Hba1c since diagnosis -shocked!!

Hi Flora. Can I ask what your fasting glucose was at diagnosis, and how quickly it started to fall once you started dieting?

It was 21 or 22 from memory. It started to fall within a week.l in around 20-30g per day.

Congratulations on taking the leap of faith and seeing the results.

It does make us wonder what they have been feeding the millions of T2D who are still struggling over the years...

I agree. All the advice I was given at diagnosis seemed just plain wrong to me. Why feed yourself with something that will release loads of glucose into the body?! The DN was confused when I asked questions and couldn’t come up with the answers. Fortunately I’ve always had an interest in nutrition and natural health so I am blessed I have a head start and didn’t have to find out the hard way. I had just started on LC before finding this amazing forum.

That's great progress! I've only just started on LCHF but I'm very impatient, so if things can start dropping within a week, that should keep my spirits up.

Thanks! Are you testing? It was what kept me going. Initially the doc said only to test before a meal and at night but I realised from here that I should be testing a lot more.

yes i tested about 8 times a day until i understood things a bit better .....well done

I bet the Doc will be scratching his or her head when they see this result! Very well done!
GP will probably say it will kill you or you can't maintain that but don't, I say, don't listen to them. You are doing a wonderful job of taking care of you. Believe in yourself and your ability to fix this yourself. Hurray for YOU and all the others that do such a great job.
