Metformin with sitagliptin and just started glicazide few weeks back it's the first time it's been this low I started to feel weak and hot I'm bit worried just gona test blood again in a min

if you are t2 on metformin or D&E then 4.5 is what you should be aiming for, not a cause for concern, it makes little sense to me why the doc would want you to be 7. if you take insulin then i havent a clue sorry, what where the hypo symptons?

i have to get up for work in 5 hours so ill have to leave this for others im afraid :)

good luck :)

Hi my gp advises me to stay in the 7,s to keep well gp may not want you to low and get hypo, gp may be trying to keep you well..... I am t2 on medication hba1c is 6.1 I go low, and have to deal with it, orange juice, digestive biscuit, something carb......it's a bit of a guessing game at times....well that's how it feels.....

Hi - I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but eating bad foods and carbs won't make you have a hypo. You're blood sugars would go up if you weren't eating the correct foods.

4.5 isn't low really - usually a hypo is below 4 - however I do feel bad whenever I get below 5.

If you do feel bad then have a gluco drink / or gluco tablets handy. If not my b-I-l who is a Type 1 diabetic has coke/lucozade. But make sure as said above you have some carbs - a bit more information here:

Hope you are ok - the first time is always the worst.
