Feel properly devastated! I love my bi-weekly shopping trips and not picking up what I love, because I'm being really determined at low carb has left me feeling awful :( I know its a temporary thing as I'll get used to what I can and can't am I have built some treats in there but its awful that first trip!

Going to be prepared next time and go with meals in mind and a proper ingredients list!

It does get easier and surprisingly quickly, too. As you learn which foods spike your bg you become less enamoured of them and the temptation (mostly) fades.

I do my shopping online - makes it easy to plan my meals and only get what I need. But either way @callieuk you are correct - it's just a temporary thing - I found cravings for carbs subsided pretty quickly on low carb. I also found it helpful to not focus on the things I couldn't have, but the things I could enjoy - for the first time I'm enjoying full fat cheese, salad dressings etc guilt-free.

I mainly shop online too like @eggs11 especially while I was learning about what’s out there. You can more easily check the nutrition and carb content without peering at a tiny box on a packet or wrapper! You c@n also find things you’re looking for as sometimes low carb is shelved with gluten free othertimes in speciality food etc so if you are looking for things like low carb bean pasta, bread or ice cream or baking products it saves loads of time in beg. If going to actual shop I’ve sometimes done research at same time as the list to help. It does get easier promise nine months in it’s much more pleasurable and there is less walking round the aisles as a fair few it’s best not to even walk up them!

It's a bit of a mind game. I keep telling myself and reminding myself how much healthier I am. I've been buying "sensible" food for so long I can't remember what I used to buy that wasn't advisable. Bread, pasta, rice, potatoes I suppose, the 4 things I gave up to lower my carbs. I don't even buy biscuits "for visitors", they have to go without and just drink tea/coffee. LOL
