First time using Libre 2 monitoring ...

I am just wondering how people got on with the Libre 2 sensor their first time of using,

I only started last night, but initial results were very different to my finger pricks.
10.5 libre vs 8.9 finger prick, these are getting closer nearly 24 hours later.
Another issue i have found, is i have yet to be able to get my sugars under control, since inserting last night, my numbers have been rising and sat well above 12.
I had my usual lunch and insulin injections (And correction due to high numbers) and have risen again.
Has anyone noticed the sensor screwing with your body the first time round?
ie, is my body trying to fight an infection that isn't there, as it thinks the sensor is an infection?

Just a few thoughts for now, and am really just looking to see if anyone else has had this and it settled down in a couple of days?

Thanks.
FYI - Am currently classed as LADA but had some tests last week to see if i am actually Type 1.
Long insulin = Degludec
Short insulin = Apidra

Those differences in levels between Libre and bloods are well within parameters and actually as close as two different blood glucose monitors maybe. I suspect that there is nothing wrong with the 12 just that you are actually seeing in real time what actually happens to our levels between blood tests. However the next Libre you put on, put on 24 hours before the other ends. It then has some bedding in time. Numbers tend to be a little erratic the first 24 and last 24 hours. Those are the occasions I tend to do blood tests more. Unless hypo or hyper which very rarely happens these days with alarms, I test very little. I have trust. It may not be perfect, but with 95% in range over 3 months between 4.2 and 8.5 and an HBA1C of 41 I think it’s the best thing since sliced bread!
It is a learning curve. It will show you how far in advance you should be injecting for different meals how exercise really affects you and when to split insulin for enjoyable but impossible meals. It is a roller coaster of a learning curve.

I agree with @becca59 to make sure you don’t scan the sensor til 24hrs after insertion. I had one fail on me at 10 days recently and inserted a new one and used it straight away. It read high for the whole 14 days duration!

Thanks for the responses so far ... just to clarify, soon after putting on the sensor both the sensor and finger prick tests are putting me high.
Currently 16 ! Not just the sensor ... and am feeling it too.

At lunch if i eat 40grams, i have 4 short. If i am at 11 when i do it, i add 1 more to cover the high, i would normally end up around 7-8 ish.
I did this, this lunch, 4 for the sandwich and 5 to cover the high, was at 14.6, I am currently at 16, so higher than when i started.
Either i am ill, or it seems like my body doesn't like me sticking something in it :(

Sorry I missed that you need advice on your high levels rather than the Libre reading high per se. I don’t use insulin so can’t help I’m afraid

I have never experienced or read about Libre pushing my levels high.
I would look at something else for the cause. I would be tempted to change my insulin or pen if I don't feel ill or stressed.

Update: still no control of sugars. Over night (5:46am) I ended up at 22! Correcting it seemed to do little until 9:30am. (Down to 10.8) Still out of range now.
Have taken the day off sick as feeling rubbish.
Have just realised, I started Atorvastatin Friday night. I have only taken 3 days of 20g, as forgot last night. (Not sure if this is enough to affect me .. but) Have read that this could increase Bg, so have decided to not take these for now. Hoping this is reason my sugars have gone out of control & by stopping taking it, it will come back down.
Let’s see how I go today and feel tomorrow. :)

LADA is effectively T1, but with some of the gifts of T2 in terms of insulin resistance and weight gain?
Note that your Libre 2 Sensor also takes test strips, I find after 4 months they are very close.
My 1AC is dowm from ~10 to 6.8. The biggest change, moving from 4 to a dozen+ tests per day, has been incremental and micro dosing insulin.
The alarm will alert me couple times per night as/if BG approaches 10, then I'll "micro dose". That's the biggest improvement and most significant discovery, late eating or not BG rises in the small hours.
I'll also take a smaller insulin dose before eating, heading off any Hypo risk, then dose incrementally after eating if BG rises, maintaining it below 10.

Libre 2 is the best invention for us since insulin.

I am not convinced there is an agreed definition of LADA but my understanding is that it is an adult onset of T1. The thing that makes it appear like t2 is that is comes on slowly.
LADA does not necessarily include insulin resistance that is experienced by people with t2.
