Hello, and thanks for this site - very reassuring for those of us newly-diagnosed!

I'm a newly-diagnosed T2, and have a diet question: oily fish seems to be a very good part of a health - unfortunately, I really (I mean REALLY) don't like oily fish, and can't eat shellfish...so, I'd like to know whether fish oil tablet/capsules are equally useful, and if so, can anyone recommend some good ones?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Alan.
Welcome.

I see from your profile that you are taking oral medication. I presume this is for the Diabetes ? If so you are entitled to free prescriptions.

If this is the case you should discuss this with your GP as there are a number of side effects and interactions with Fish Oil and various medications. Get them prescribed. They are beneficial if you are able to take them ?
See the link for more information: http://www.drugs.com/omacor.html

You can get the fish oils on prescription as I do. I take Omacor capsules 2000mg per day.

Ken.
