Hi, my DN has just introduced me to Florence.

This is a NHS-run system that allows you to text in your BG readings. There are various trigger parameters set so that for instance if your BG is over a set amount it automatically alerts the DN by e-mail; sends you reminders to test, take medication etc. The DN can also monitor your levels without waiting for you to attend an appointment or send your figures in.

Has anyone else come across this and found it to be useful, or would they find it to be useful?

I have never heard of that but it sounds really useful. Definitely something I will be asking about at clinic

Be very aware of the nanny state esp if you drive and your results show a few more lows than acceptable for any reason.
Who pays for these texts?

I've never heard of this either , if it was a trial in 2012 then I don't think it was that successful
