I was sent this text from my surgery and wanted to pass it on. Maybe check with your Dr as not sure if this is for me specifically, but I am on Dapagliflozin.

Just as a comment, my surgery never wants me to reply to their texts, is it actually a proper text from your docs/surgery?

Yes, it's a genuine text and there is a reply link which I didn't include in the screen shot. Yes, some texts are 'noreply' if it's just an advisory, but they obviously want to make sure I got this.

From my reading around the covid subject I think this may be because of a raised dka risk with these meds during covid illness. I’d suggest anyone on them checking it out for themselves and with their dr though rather than panic’ing. Information is choice.

I think it's because this medication puts a bit more demand on the kidneys (in the way it works) and during COVID you'd want as much kidney function as possible to fight it. MHO
