Food labelling rant


You can knock the fibre count off the total carbs but I have no idea what the added sugars or total sugars mean.
 
I'm guess I'm used to the US labels and like them for the above information.
So the part I like in this case is 10 carbs minus 4 fiber is equal to 6 carbs to count.
If you are a type 1 then you have to account for any sugar alcohols listed too.
This is what I was taught to only worry about from my endo and it seems to work just fine.
So in this case if the whole bar is 6 carbs, half a bar is 3 carbs and that's a great bar!

But be forewarned as most of the time that carb amount for the gram serving information is not for the whole bar, nor is it necessarily divided easily all the time into the divided squares the bar actually has and that is the part I don't like.
