just avoid starches

so if cooking for family, eat the meat and the light veggies and leave the starchy veggies and rice/potato/bread/noodles

I dont bother with any cereals but i know some people say oats are good for them

if oats are ok for you, then fine, keep eating them

otherwise have a couple of eggs for breakfast

Maybe have a browse through the Food and Recipes section of the forum, there's loads of ideas in there, some of which are low fat and low carb and very tasty (I love the mini quiche recipes - thanks to the folks who posted those  ) .

btw, Porridge will make many people's BG rise, as will most Grains and cereals, so may be best avoided.

First - having your wisdom teeth out will upset your blood glucose levels. As your mouth heals, so your BGs will steady. Keep an eye on them, but try not to worry too much. If they go too high (eg mid-teens) and you feel very unwell and nauseous, ring your GP, or NHS Direct or your out-of-hours service.

Because you have such a complex of conditions, with no gall bladder and a hiatus hernia, I am in no way qualified to advise you about diet. You will still need to control your carb intake to keep your BGs down, but you are obviously limited in what you can eat instead.

Some people can't cope with carbs first thing in the morning, but are better later in the day. Is there anything you can eat instead? Can you cope with an egg? Also, I can't eat porridge but can cope with a small helping of Lizi's Granola, available now from most supermarkets. I leave it to soak in cold milk for about 10 minutes 'cos I don't like it crunchy

I think you should ask your doctor if you can see a dietitian. You need a nutritious controlled-carbohydrate diet that your medical conditions can cope with. Don't let them fob you off with "based on starchy carbs". You need to control your carb intake to keep your BGs low, and base your diet around (say) 150g carb daily - or less if you can - instead of 250g carb daily.

Hope this helps a bit. :D

What was in your stir-fry, by the way?

Thanks. Ive bn back to docs who has reffered me to clinic for help n test which type i am. Bn having 15-20 g per meal n still stikes BS. Tho worse in tge morning like u said. Fasting BS was 11.8 2day then breakfast of yought berries n few oat flakes total carb 17g BS 19.5! Think dam infection in mouth not helping but on strong pills for that now so hopefully will see improvement soon
Thanks

Sue
