Food to eat

Honey's still sugar so it's going to raise your glucose levels, but it's up to you what you choose to eat, so you can try it and test to see how your body reacts to it.

Yeah it all depends how you are consuming it and whether it gonna spike your levels.
I can have sugary stuff in small quantities if I am doing strenuous exercise ie bike ride. I eat fruit before a main meal, some berries in my porridge. But I am on 1x500mg of metaformin consumed with every meal. Regular exercise to combat my levels, which are almost in range with medication. My levels are a vast improvement to what they were 2 years ago. I've found that sugar spikes make me feeling tired and it raises my levels, so I avoid them. But you are the only one who can tell how it affects you. Just test and monitor.

I've heard that agave nectar/syrup is similar to honey,I've used it in cakes as a sugar substitute maybe worth a try ???.

It's not great, but if you had a bit of honey on something that wasn't also carbohydrate you might get away with it. So no honey on toast, or honey on porridge. But maybe some honey with greek yoghurt. Or some honey-coated pork stir fry? Only way to be sure is to test before and after the meal and see what it does to your BG.
